Florida Writer's Association Manatee Branch, a writer's group, meets four times monthly at Village Voices Book Gallery, 1010 10th Ave West, Bradenton.  The meetings are on the first and third Tuesday of every month at 6:30 pm, and the first and third Saturday of every month at 4pm.  The first Tuesday meeting is typically a workshop, where a writing technique is discussed and worked on.  The other three meetings are critique sessions.  Members may bring 5 copies of up to ten pages of their work, read it to the group, and then we will discuss what works, what mistakes we see, and attempt to keep the writer motivated and on task.  These groups are small, working groups.

Florida Writer's Association is a group of "writers helping writers".  Statewide their are over 800 paid members.  Branch meetings are open to all at no cost.  Novice, amateurs, and professional writers at all stages are welcome.  We deal with fiction, nonfiction, technical, poetry, and even musical melodies.

For more information please call Village Voices at (941) 748-6865.

Book clubs are welcome to reserve the reading room. I hope you will consider choosing a local writer to read and if possible I will contact the author and invite them to your discussion, where you can tell him/her what worked and what didn't.

Coffee, soda, and homemade cookies are available for purchase. Before or after a meeting there are three cafes located in the Village of the Arts for your enjoyment.

Dona Lee Gould will be available to critique, collaborate, or coach you on your writing. Fee is $15.00 per half hour session.

I hope you will join our literary adventure.
